Description: Site of the first hospital of Warrnambool on corner of Henna & Koroit Streets. Written on the back; To M. Saltau, esq. President of the Warrnambool Hospital & Benevolent Asylum with compliments of John Ward. The old and fading landmark and relic of Ruins of the original Building in which Warrnambool Hospital was founded 1854, situate in the late Mr Clarke's Garden henna St. opposite the Western entrance to Christ Church Warrnambool. The above building was occupied as a Hospital from 1854 till 1861, a term of seven years.
