Description: This image shows a building within the former Brierly Psychiatric Hospital, located in the south-east corner of the campus and overlooking the main kitchen area. Brierly was an inpatient mental health facility operated by Warrnambool & District Base Hospital, situated on Moore Street in North Warrnambool, with the capacity to accommodate up to 200 patients. The facility operated from 1956 to 1996, eventually spreading over 26 hectares. The building formed part of the hospital’s broader service and support infrastructure, reflecting the practical, institutional design typical of mid-20th century psychiatric facilities. Like the rest of the Brierly complex, it has since been demolished, with the site now redeveloped as the Brierly Recreation Reserve.
